His approach to food, service, and dining environment has remained remarkably focused on his customers. We have experienced this since dining at his original Big Island location over thirty years ago. We have dined there and at his additional restaurants now many times since. It is impressive to me that his Monkeypod at Waikiki restaurant has all of the features of his original, albeit in a much larger venue. Here we had creative dishes like poke tacos, and long established like Mahi Mahi macadamia nut crusted. They were all outstanding and served with care. Remarkable in such a high volume setting. This is an epic date spot for cocktails and a sunset, I highly recommend. Food and drinks were awesome, but a bit overpriced.
