Best Restaurants with a Fireplace in Deep Ellum

We had “the experience”, similar to a “feed me”. Everything was full of flavor and simply delicious! The wine pairing was nice as well. Great service and with a lovely atmosphere.

We are regulars almost every weekend. Music was different tonight. Sounded like AM radio and something you’d hear at Dave and Busters. Please bring back NOLA jazz, big band, other jazz, etc. Just not the same vibe without it. Really missed hearing NOLA jazz playing outside at entrance. That’s what drew me into J&H’s for the first time around a year ago.

Fantastic experience overall. Food was exquisite, thoughtful and well composed. Truly couldn’t have asked for a better meal. Drink selection didn’t feel as up to par as the food menu. Basic options. Bathroom is up an entire flight of winding stairs which is fine, but be cautious in heels. They were out of toilet paper, so that felt overlooked. Bar with live music ramped up toward the end of our dinner but wasn’t overly loud and soundly lively as we were exiting.

Honestly, we had Valentine’s Day reservations months in advance at a steakhouse, but to our surprise upon arriving we were informed they had to shut down due to construction workers hitting a gas line. Highly disappointed, thinking we would not find a last minute reservation anywhere on Valentines night, Haywire had a few available slots on open table and it was right around the corner. We reserved for 2 not knowing what to expect, but I am SO GLAD WE DID! The elk tacos appetizers were delicious! The redfish w/crab and shrimp was amazing! I was also celebrating my birthday and the warm pecan pie w/ice cream was definitely the cherry on top! Our server was so attentive and took great care of us! We had reservations at 10pm and were done eating dinner at 10:40pm. 🥰 THANKS HAYWIRE.

Excellent service, great atmosphere. My wife and I went for the first time. Managers came to check on us and it was delightful as they genuinely wanted to make our experience better and not bother us. Food was amazing, could not have been better. We will be coming back very soon.
