All the meat on our menus is “nose to tail” so the menu is ever changing, and we waste nothing. We even employ our own head ranger to keep the deer herds on the land we manage under control, and have our own deer larder in the Cotswolds where this amazing product is processed.Our fish comes from day boats in Cornwall.We work with the seasons, ensuring the very best truly local veg is with us the day after its picked. Absolutely fabulous from when you walk through the door to when you leave after having enjoyed great food, in a warm setting where the background noise is just right to ensure you can still enjoy a lively conversation with friends. We had a warm welcome, were seated promptly with a menu so delicious we committed to go back for more! Our waitress was super friendly and helpful and continued throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was great as always with portion size just right and at the end of the evening the bill was extremely good value for money.

Drinks service was a little slow but didn’t stop us having a lovely evening. The food was tasty and portion sizes were good. The price for the lamb special for 2 was a tad high at £85.

Food was lovely service was great friendly staff. Table service was prompt only issue was room was very cold customers at other tables also remarked how cold the room was. Noise level was loud in the bar but the dining room was pleasant. We had a nice evening will return soon ( hopefully the heating will be on ) ;)

A very beautiful & historic tavern that has flagstone floors & a roaring fire. A very good choice of dishes including plenty of vegetarian & vegan.The staff were excellent as was their service. The food was delicious & very well presented . An excellent visit. Thank you
