Best Sunday Lunch Restaurants in Budleigh Salterton

My niece and her family were visiting so we took them there. They loved it- good food amd great ambience. Food was nice overall with an excellent steak and ice cream but the burgers were underwhelming. My niece ordered ravioli which she liked. Puddings were good with the stout cake being excellent. Would recommend - try and go for the steak.

We were a family group of six. It was a nice Xmas feeling with the people around us. The food was just ok, some of the group enjoyed all the courses but majority thought it was very average for the money we paid. Service was very good, servers were cheerful and obliging. We did enjoy ourselves and there was plenty to eat. Was it value for money ? Not sure but you have to pay a lot extra when people work on Xmas day.

For Christmas Day the food was not as good as it can be .Too much gravy and the Christmas puddings could have been better .The Turkey was lovely very moist and the attention for the children with hat and crayons and book was lovely. The vegetarian pie was also good.. It was lovely not to have to cook and I am very grateful to everyone for giving up their Christmas So we could we lazy.!

The service was amazing. I had the scallops to start fresh and well cooked. The beetroot starter was well presented and flavours well twinned. The venison and steak prepared to request and the extra garlic mayo was the best ever tasted. Cocktails and pebbledbed sparkling rose spectacular. Artic Roll desert so yummy pared with the Artic cocktail a treat not to miss. Overall the best meal since they have opened. Better than Lympstone Manor.

Visited the Balfour on Sunday with my wife and with my sister. We each opted for a starter, Sunday roast and a pudding and all three courses were absolutely outstanding. Never been here before but absolutely will come back again. Best roast I have had for years. Decent price, and really good, friendly atmosphere.
