- DDerekCornwall •2 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoA Culinary Masterpiece at Opheem Dining at Opheem was an unforgettable experience that left us in awe of both the artistry and passion behind its exceptional cuisine. Opting for the 5-course tasting menu during our visit on Wednesday evening, we were treated to a journey of flavours that were as refined as they were inventive. Each dish was a testament to the creative genius of Chef Aktar Islam and his team, blending traditional Indian influences with modern techniques in ways that delighted the senses. From the very first bite, it was clear that each plate had been crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The balance of flavours, the textures, and the presentation were flawless—elevating every course into a work of art. It was impossible to pick a favourite dish as every course brought something unique to the table, showcasing a remarkable depth of culinary skill. The service was equally impeccable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, their knowledge of the dishes and wine pairings enhancing the entire experience. Every interaction felt warm and genuine, creating an atmosphere of relaxed elegance that perfectly complemented the meal. The highlight of the evening, however, was our post-dinner conversation with Chef Aktar Islam. His dedication to his craft and his customers was evident in every word, and it was truly inspiring to hear firsthand about his culinary philosophy. It is rare to encounter a chef so committed to pushing boundaries while maintaining such a profound respect for the origins of his cuisine. Opheem is not just a restaurant; it is an experience—one that transcends dining and enters the realm of art. We left feeling not only satisfied but deeply inspired. This is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates extraordinary food and exceptional hospitality. We cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning to see what new creations await us.More infoOpheemPrice: Very Expensive• Indian• Birmingham•4.9

- MMatthewShropshire •9 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 18, 2024I love the fact that the staff remember you and offer a genuine welcome every time you return. The place was beautifully decorated for the pending Christmas Season and I was particularly taken by the new Christmas Cushions. We even had a chuckle with staff over whether I could get away with taking one home under my jumper! Keep up the good work and The Punch Bowl is definitely our go to place when we have friends staying as well as for other special occasions.
