Best Restaurants for Groups in El Cajon / Lakeside

AS ALWAYS EXCELLENT FOOD!! I HAD COD AS SPECIAL OF THE DAY,,,THE BEST!! WE ARE REGULARS AT THIS RESTAURANT AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTING. THE COD WAS SUPERB, SERVICE VERY GOOD, ATMOSPHERE NICE FAMILY SETTING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WITH FAIR PRICING. YOU WILL LIKE THIS RESTAURANT VERY MUCH. ENJOY!!

We were there mid afternoon Christmas Day. It wasn’t to crouched and the service was good. Food was great. They have a nice patio dining area and an open air bar that were fairly quiet, but I did notice inside was kind of noisy due to all hard surfaces. Overall very nice experience.

What a wonderful place to be on Christmas day( Fantastic fixed menu, fantastic drinks and what a very attentive staff from front desk to service. I want to thank Bill, my server for the evening and all the wonderful team members who worked on Christmas day to make someone else s day special. The view from any point of view is breathtaking. The chef and team should take a bow for the menu and the bartender for a wonderful mango Durango cocktail. What a gem of a restaurant, so classy, so chic so special. Keep up the great 5 Star service. I also appreciate the many times the manager and staff checked on a single woman. I felt so special.

Our steaks were cooked just as we ordered them. The waiter Brian was attentive to our needs, filling cups as needed. Suggested items for us to try and we did. All was very flavorful. Good service and food.

We had our wedding reception at this location in 1977. A lot has happened over the years. Floods have washed away parts of the golf course, buildings, and parking lots. Children and relatives have worked at the facility. Our church holds its annual Christmas party here. Needless to say, we have strong feelings about this resort and the people who work here. The breakfast menu is a bit sparse but with creative items on tap. If there's nothing to your fancy, ask; they can probably accommodate you. My favorite is the "Chicken and Waffles". All of the dishes are amazingly fresh and big enough to share. Prices are still on the cheaper side, compared to a typical breakfast out. The view of the golf course is serene, with trees, flowers and water features. You have the option of eating in the restaurant, on the back terrace or on the shady side patio adjacent to the full-service bar. The wait staff are amazing, with attentive service. It is rare to have to ask for a refill of anything. That usually only happens when there are several large family groups (be sure to reserve ahead so you won't be disappointed with a long wait). We can't say enough good things about The Red Tail. Try it.
