Best Restaurants for Foodies in Ala Moana

Early dinner on the open lanai. The Holiday Prix Fixe was on the menu. The 7 course meal was delicious, the presentation was excellent, and the service was outstanding! One of us did tea pairing and the other standard wine pairing. Quite pricey but well worth it for a special occasion.

We sat in the large patio area outside. It was very pleasant, with balmy weather and light trade winds, and we liked the live music (a solo guitarist/singer). We ordered from the Happy Hour menu and the food and drinks were inexpensive. Even though the restaurant was busy we were served quickly. My friend ordered the local shrimp and chips and I had the tempura fish and chips. Our waitress brought us a small glass of Prosecco (no charge) before our meal arrived. The food was delicious and well prepared. The coating on the seafood was light and crispy (not greasy). The service was excellent. Shout outs to our pleasant and friendly waitress Mahina and to the host Kody. We liked the restaurant so much we came back for dessert the same evening after we attended a music event!

The fish are all fresh and good quality, my friend and I prefer shima aji, tile fish, uni, and the temaki with toro and pickled daikon. Will come back to try lunch course.

The tempura omakase experience was incredible. Every piece was incredibly delicious without being too heavy. My wife wasn’t feeling well to due her medication and they offered to accommodate her by packing the remaining courses to go. Would absolutely go back again for another wonderful experience.
