The restaurant is intimate without being cramped. Conversation is easy because it’s not noisy. We had quality service and the food is very good. I gave Nell’s 4 stars for value but that might be more indicative of Seattle in general than Nell’s. Compared to dining most anywhere in the world, Seattle is expensive and Nell’s seemed pricey for the portions served. We had ahi crudo, carrots, polenta fries, and focaccia to start, and then 3 pastas and the scallops. Everything was delicious, well presented and excellent presentation. The Food was soooo good and we definitely ordered too much for two, we went straight with 4 Fresh Northwest oysters, Bagna Cauda(Hot Bath), Squid Ink Tonnarelli and Mama’s Meatballs; end up packing it for dinner the night as well, but it was so satisfying. Sometimes it was a bit overwhelming (like the garlic on the Chinese broccoli), but we were glad we had ordered it and after pushing the garlic aside, ate every bite. Try the octopus -- absolutely delicious and not at all like the typical calamari you get in local restaurants.
