Nestled in the heart of Ashtown Village, Dublin 15, overlooking the Royal Canal, The Lock Keeper can be found at Lock #10. Steeped in heritage, this double lock was constructed c.1792. With quality stonework and attractive sloping edges Lock 10 is one of 46 along the Royal Canal and continues to be a testament to the skill of the craftsmen involved. Our bar is adjacent to the Lock Keepers House, a post that became obsolete in 1961 when the canal was closed to traffic the previous year. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had, hands down the best value for money you will find in Dublin. 30€ 3 course meal left absolutely stuffed! Unlimited chips as well and garlic bread, staff were beyond lovely and so helpful, accommodating as well. Food came so quick, was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I cannot stress this enough, please go to try this place I promise you won’t be disappointed. Will definitely be going there again!

Everything was perfect! The food was delicious, the place was cozy and the service was outstanding! Perfect for a special dinner. We went there to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and the waiters and waitress were so attentive and made sure it was memorable. Luna was super nice and helpful with her recommendations. We can’t wait to come back and try other dishes, they really were absolutely delightful (and so many vegetarian options!). Highly recommend!
