Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Westmere

The Red Lion Inn is iconic. Quintessential New England and always a joy to visit. Our lunch today did not disappoint. All tasty and well presented. The portions are modest for the price but leaves room for dessert. Apple pie, warmed Camabert and chocolate mousse were not only beautiful to look at it but mouth watering delicious. The Service was excellent! A must go to, if you’ve never been. And if you have, go back!

We had a very nice and relaxing dinner for our twentieth wedding anniversary. The staff was absolutely wonderful and professional. The food was really delicious. We will be returning for more then special occasions. Thank you

This has to be the best restaurant in Tannersville/Hunter. The food is incredibly fresh, innovative and thoroughly enjoyable. We had the veal parm (which was not your ordinary veal parm)....on the bone and shareable. Absolutely delicious. The french onion soup -- nothing comes close ... the artichoke salad and Caesar where perfection. Of course the octopus was as delicious as always. Highly recommend -- I can't leave without mentioning the awesome drinks ... Winter Warmth (a cinnamon margarita) is hard to explain how good it was.

The ambiance and food are always great here - not the issue. The service is book or busy, and this visit was more of a bust. The server was likely on the newer side, but was clearer not trained in the art of customer service. Lack of communication, not checking in to see if we needed anything (had to flag him down to get more drinks, nothing after our dinner was delivered), and no birthday acknowledgment even though my reservation called it out and I told him before the birthday girl arrived. Will be back, but hopefully a friendlier server.

My food was ok the veggie lettuce wraps was greasy which was unexpected the cucumber salad was fresh but lacked flavor- my server was amazing and on point. It was not worth $40 and I'm not a cheap person.
