Inspired by the diners of the northeast, whose menu had a little bit of everything and was heavily influenced by Greek cuisine—because, let’s face it, the majority were owned by Greek immigrants—the menu’s attractiveness was the diversity in its offerings. From Italian specialties to delicatessen classics, there were no rules or borders regarding types of cuisine, just a variety of options that have left many transplants and generations longing for just a glimpse of what once was.An eclectic revolving menu of home-style specials, comfort food, fun spins on classics with beer and future spirit pairings, and an extensive wine list make The Food Republic a foodie’s paradise where comfort and a feeling of belonging are our mission.Warm wood tones, deep, comfortable benches, and an array of worldly and whimsical art welcome you while our oversized tables encourage sharing and enjoying the moment and the company as much as our menu offerings. We welcome you to The Food Republic.

Excellent seafood (lobster and mixed grill), good wine, tasty soups and desserts, good service by Brittany. All three of us enjoyed the evening. Only disappointment was despite reservation on Open Table mentioning it was a birthday celebration, there was no acknowledgement from the restaurant during our visit.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, and the service was excellent—friendly and attentive staff made the evening even better. However, the only downside was the large number of small children constantly screaming, which took away from the romantic atmosphere on Valentine’s Day. While I understand that families dine out too, a quieter setting would have made the experience perfect. Other than that, everything was wonderful!

The Cook and the Cork is a huge hit for us. We went on Valentines Day to try out this place and find out what all the rave was about. They did not disappoint. Walking in, you are immediately greeted by the hostess and seated. We were given a charming table with a booth back which was super comfortable. Our server, Chris, came over, greeted us for Valentine’s Day, and asked if we had been there previously. We hadn’t so he gave us an extra welcome and asked if we wanted drinks to start. They had a Pistachio Espresso Martini on the menu which was right up my alley and the hubs had a daiquiri which he loved. The drinks came out and they were perfectly made and a great start to the evening. They had a special Valentine’s menu along with some of their regular items so there was quite a selection. We ordered the blue crab and avocado salad appetizer to start. This was on the special menu but they should definitely put it on as a regular item bc it was absolutely amazing. Blue card, avocado, greens and a delicious creamy balsamic that I find myself craving more of as I write this. I would have licked the plate clean had it been proper to do so. 😜 Next, came the main courses. I really wanted a surf and turf. They had filer on the menu and they had lobster tail on the menu but no combo. Well, here came Chris to the rescue. He had a chat with the chef and low and behold, a surf and turf dish was created. There was, of course, an up charge, and it was extremely reasonable for the amount of food, the quality of the food, and the freshness of the food. The lobster was a half pound tail and was cooked to perfection and served with a side of melted butter. The filet was topped with a reduced red wine mushroom sauce that really enhanced the filet without taking away the actual taste of the steak. Perfectly balanced. The hubs had the famous Korean Fried Chicken. Oh my stars!! Don’t walk, run fast to get this dish. It was the best fried chicken ever. Bottom line - 5 stars
