- LLisaChicago / Illinois •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoWe came over to check in about 15 mins before our reservations and we were seared immediately. Everyone was so friendly and polite. The place was decorated beautifully. We love the fairies that come around to the table no matter how old you are. They were so sweet and make the experience even more enjoyable. Our waiter was wonderful so attentive, never having to look for him, always refilling our glasses and providing prompt and friendly service. Food came out quick and was very good. We never felt rushed. We were able to go by the tree and take pictures. It was just a fabulous time. We had our first experience there last year and now we’ve made this an annual tradition. We look forward to many more years to come.More infoThe Walnut Room - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• American• Downtown / Loop•4.6

Our server Drew was exceptional. He was attentive and engaging, explaining the menu and making sure our glasses were never empty (including our teen who was enjoying Shirley Temples). Our food was superb. My husband and one of our daughters enjoyed steaks, another daughter and I went with the Dover sole with the most delicious beurre blanc sauce, and our youngest enjoyed an off menu hamburger that Drew told her about. The sides were a hit as well - the mashed potatoes should not be missed! We ended the evening with the sundae cart and the banana cream pie. My only complaint of the evening was that we waited 25 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. We had cocktails while we waited, but 25 minutes seemed a bit long to have to wait. After 15 minutes I expect a restaurant to offer a small apology - comp an app, offer an amuse bouche, just something to acknowledge the inconvenience. Once we were seated the wait time was quickly forgotten and we had a wonderful night.More infoPrime & Provisions SteakhousePrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• River North (Chicago)•4.7
- MMargieSan Francisco Bay Area •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoRestaurant Review: The Girl and The Goat The Girl and The Goat continues to solidify its reputation as one of Chicago’s must-visit dining destinations. With a focus on bold flavors and a playful approach to globally inspired dishes, this restaurant delivers a truly memorable experience. Highlights: •Bread and Pimento: This dish is deceptively simple but executed to perfection. The warm, freshly baked bread pairs beautifully with the creamy, smoky pimento spread. It’s the kind of starter that sets the tone for an indulgent meal, leaving you reaching for seconds (or thirds). •Empanadas: Bursting with flavor, these are a standout. The flaky, golden crust envelops a perfectly seasoned filling that balances savory richness with a touch of spice. Each bite feels like a small, delicious adventure. Drinks to Complement Your Meal: While The Girl and The Goat boasts a full bar menu offering craft cocktails, wines, and beers to suit any palate, the non-alcoholic options are equally impressive. The menu features thoughtfully crafted mocktails, infused with fresh herbs, seasonal fruits, and house-made syrups. Standouts include a refreshing citrus-and-mint blend and a rich hibiscus and ginger cooler, each perfectly balanced to enhance the meal without overpowering the flavors of the food. Dessert Note: •Chocolate and Peanut Butter Dessert: A decadent and satisfying way to end your meal. The harmony of creamy peanut butter and rich chocolate creates a nostalgic yet elevated experience. The textures—silky, crunchy, and smooth—make this dessert unforgettable. The Girl and The Goat’s ability to innovate while staying approachable is what makes it a perennial favorite. From small plates to desserts, and a drink menu that caters to every guest, every dish tells a story worth savoring.More infoGirl & the GoatPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• West Loop•4.8
- CCaitlinVIPChicago / Illinois •3 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoThis is our favorite place in the city for many reasons. The drinks, the food, the look and feel of it, but the number one reason we keep coming back is the people who work at RL. It was a wildly busy evening this last time we came in and while many would have folded, the team went out of their way to take care of us. And that’s what sets this place apart. You’re cared for here. We were listened to and made comfortable. It ended up being a wonderful evening all thanks to obviously the food and drink, but mainly each employee we came in contact with. Come for the lush martinis, the perfect dover sole, the rich wood and dim lights but keep coming back for the people.More infoRL RestaurantPrice: Expensive• American• Gold Coast / Streeterville•4.9

The focaccia and prosciutto appetizer is a must-try every time. The ambiance is unparalleled, making it the perfect spot to impress out-of-town guests.
