Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Corona del Mar

Food was great as usual. Shared the pate, which was very good. Plenty of pate, grilled whole grain bread, variety of fruits, pickled red onion, pickled green onion slices(first time having this-it was slightly sweet & tasty), & jam. For my entree,I ordered my usual Gorgonzola & Granny Smith apple with grilled chicken. MUCH better than my last visit. My only complaint last visit was the lone thin slice of apple. That’s correct. ONE slice of apple. Perhaps the kitchen supervisor was new(?). Anyway, the salad was great. My friend had the rare grilled tuna sandwich. VERY good. My last visit, my MIL had the same & was also very pleased with her choice. We will continue to be regular patrons. The food & service are great. The brief tour of the garden/nursery is a nice distraction from LA traffic & the hustle of city life.

Mark & Niko & entire Five Crowns Staff provided all of Us with a once in a lifetime experience that can’t be duplicated anywhere else. Throw in the incredible four Charles Dickens’s Carolers & You reach Perfection; not to be matched anywhere else. The Henry VIII Prime Rib medium rare cut was to die for. Tender, delicious & expertly presented. Perfection. The Wine list, incredible bread display, lobster bisque soup, cream corm, cream spinach & mashed potato were out of this world. Top if off with CC’s homemade sundae & you’ve a recipe for mouth watering success. You must experience once. Jim Cruickshank of Lemon Heights.

The server was very nice and spoke professionally. I enjoyed being on the second floor and looking out the city. The ambience I felt could be a bit better. It was really bright, but that’s to each their own. I thought the ambience was going to be more chill and not so bright was all. The food was good.

From the minute you walk in the door it is a wonderful ambiance -beautiful lighting, decorations, live music and filled with festive people. The food was especially good on Christmas Eve. Loved my Manhattan which tasted like the classic recipe.

Food was great, and service was second to none. Surprised us with a dessert for our anniversary. From start to finish, a great experience.
