Sammie’s is a little taste of old Italy in downtown Austin. It celebrates the great ‘red sauce’ institution—inspired by old school, legendary Italian-American restaurants. ATX Cocina experiments with the boundaries of Mexican cuisine. We have taken traditional Mexican dishes and elevated them with modern approaches and techniques.     Sampled several appetizers and shared entrees which was more than enough food. Really great dishes and incredible (hard to find) wines to enhance the experience. Actually less expensive than I was expecting and good value for an exceptional dinner. Wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Lizagna had a sense of humor too.

    My brother suggested ATX Cocina. Our meal was outstanding. And the service was next level great. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menus and the cocktails. She made great suggestions. The restaurant is very concerned about diners that have allergies. Highly recommend.

    Price took such good care to be sure we had everything we wanted. The food was great! Such a special place for us! The fruits de mer was very good and so were the dressed oysters and of course the mussels and clams sauce was out of this world!!! The snapper and grits was also superb!! Cocktails not quite as snazzy as they used to be. Not super cold as a good shaken or stirred drink should be. No frost! Loved the little lime twirl on my cosmo though! But we still had a fabulous time!! ! Thank you!!!!
