Growing up in Italy, my family cooked at home and had the most extraordinary experiences with ingredients grown in our backyard, paired with the wines my chef/restaurateur stepfather would bring back from regions throughout Italy. I fell in love with food as a child watching my stepfather, once nominated a top chef in Italy, work in restaurant kitchens and floors. A good restaurant with wide choice of food. Would have marked service a 5* but personally I prefer server to wait til all the party have completed their course before removing plates. Appreciate this is more a European way but puts pressure on those who have not finished yet to hurry up. Excellent specials but the prices should be mentioned. Otherwise 5* for value.

The Penthouse offers a very nice breakfast menu. The omelette are big, the burrito is delicious, the fruit was very fresh. The restaurant was very busy, but our server was attentive and provided everything we asked for. The hostess welcomed us warmly and we got a window table just like we requested. The Penthouse provides beautiful views of Santa Monica and, if you are lucky enough to get a window table that provides a view of the ocean, the view is spectacular.

We have our teacher get togethers at Sushi Roku periodically and the assistant GM Grant Schrodetzki took good care of us. We also had desserts for the first time and their chocolate fondant with ice cream was amazing as well as the flaming cheesecake surrounded by cotton candy. A fabulous show!
