New York City restaurateurs Pietro and Kelly Molendini took over the classic St. James farmhouse turned restaurant. The former co-owners of Vite Vinosteria in Astoria, Queens, who had moved from the city to Centerport, spent the summer renovating the dining room to a modern, clean look with neutral tones and contemporary artwork from Pietro Molendini's native Rome. They also expanded the bar from about four to 11 seats.Pietro Molendini has spent 30 years in the food industry, with a decade of that at Cipriani and stints at both Bar Pitti and Da Silvano. Along the way, he met chef Fabian Garcia Manca, who eventually headed the kitchen at Vito Vinosteria and now joins the Molendini’s in St. James. Kelly Molendini said Manca and her husband scour the tristate area and beyond for ingredients. "They are never home," she joked, and said that the pair source some of their meat from the Bronx, burrata from New Jersey and dried pasta from Italy and Sicily.Closed 11/17/2022 for private party

This little eatery has built its reputation on incredible Neapolitan recipes and a totally scratch kitchen. The restaurant even has several private event spaces where diners can celebrate any occasion.Mamma Lombardi's menu is divided between lunch, dinner and the pizzeria. Pizza is such a versatile dish in the hands of the Mamma Lombardi's kitchen staff that it got its own menu with dozens of recipes as well as having a build-your-own option. We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. The ambiance was natural and magically perfect! The food arrived fairly quickly, fresh and tasty. The staff are all friendly and we didn’t feel pressured to leave. The cafe is situated within a beautiful store setting which works great in my opinion. I purchased nice faux candles in the store section before leaving. I can honestly say we had a wonderful time walking around and looking at all the items and plantings they had available before leaving. Would I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely!!!

We had our Christmas Eve dinner at the Fifth Season. I received a call ahead of time inquiring about food allergies which was necessary for our party. We sat upstairs (notified in advance that we would be seated upstairs) and the room was lively and festive. The menu had something for everyone (including vegan options) even though it was a holiday menu. Our waitress was aware of the food allergy issues and double checked some of the items ordered. She was wonderful! Our meals were delicious from start to finish! All in all a special holiday experience!

There was an event in town so it was understandably crowded. We waited for a table and our food for awhile even though we had a reservation. But the staff was very nice and did their best considering the volume of people. Menu was surprisingly varied for what I thought would be ordinary pub food. There was live music which was nice.
