- LLawrenceLondon •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoAmazing food. I had the Veloute of Jerusalem artichoke with a poach hen's egg and I was in heaven, mellow artichoke taste, not too over powering and the mix with the egg was perfect. The main coarse was the fillet steak and is the best fillet steak I have ever eaten. I guess the only gripe is that on some of the main coarses you will have to order extra sides so the cost increases. I had French beans with my steak and they were lovely but the potatoes were dry and some of the food was not piping hot, it came out to us warm but I would still highly recommend it to everyone. Oh yes, the service from everyone was absolutely first class and there is only a 7.5% service charge whereas other places I have been to charge 12 or 12.5%.More infoChapter OnePrice: Very Expensive• Modern European• Orpington•4.7
- PPeterLondon •3 reviews4.0Dined 3 days agoBooked on website yet price was increased on the day! Pushed empty water bottle to edge of table but no more water offered for two more courses until I asked then just one glass full given. When querying the price I was told they had forgot to update the website which was still showing the earlier price but no adjustment offered!More infoIndian Essence by Atul KochharPrice: Expensive• Contemporary Indian• Petts Wood•4.7
- LLeahSurrey •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoRecently went to the Hare & Billet for a lovely roast, was excited to see they offer a vegan wellington roast as an option online. However was disappointed upon learning that it’s no longer an option and had been taken off the menu when we were getting our orders taken. Luckily we had a fantastic server, Nathaniel who went above and beyond to offer options so that I could still enjoy the roast that I’d be looking forward too with a few tweaks here and there. Ended up having a lovely meal regardless! Thank you, Nathaniel & chefs at the Hare & Billet!More infoThe Hare and BilletPrice: Moderate• British• Blackheath•4.3
- SSimonKent •7 reviews4.0Dined 6 days agoBeen here a few times and each time think it’s a bit disappointing. It could be a great restaurant but I think the chef or owner is trying too hard to be Gordon Ramsay or Tom Kerridge. Too few staff to handle the tables. Our young waitress was great but had too many tables to serve so we waited for drinks. Our meals came at different times and extras were forgotten. They were out of the Sirloin on the bone and suckling pig. It was only 8 O’clock so that’s poor. I ordered Fillet but I’m pretty sure it was sirloin I was given. I don’t send food back as I’m worried what will be done to my new dish so I commented and left it at that. We were given a couple of drinks so we were satisfied with that. I really wish they’d concentrate on the basics of good food without the dishes served on tiles and other nonsense. Get an extra waiter in and make sure orders are served together, without forgetting the extras ordered.More infoAppleYardPrice: Moderate• Spanish• Sidcup•4.7
