This site was once a large marsh, fed by the River Great Ouse, but in the 1950s gravel extraction created a series of small lakes and pools which survives today. Went to the Kite for Sunday lunch. We both went for the roast (1 x beef, 1 x mushroom wellington). Both were excellent. Beef was succulent and juicy, the pastry on the wellington just right. The accompanying cauliflower cheese was a centrepiece in its own right. Only small quibble was that the service was a little slow, but when mentioned was immediately put right. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful place with warm atmosphere. Friendly staff. We were very early and they were very accommodating. Toilets clean and beautiful decor. Restaurant felt comfortable and had relaxing feel to it. Lovely food, slightly expensive for a plate of pasta but was delicious. We had a relaxing meal in beautiful surroundings. We will definitely go back with friends and family for special occasions.
