Bistro Byronz was born from the simple definition of a true bistro: an unpretentious neighborhood restaurant where friends and families gather day and night to relax, share conversation and enjoy good food and drink at reasonable prices. From that day on, we have prided ourselves in serving deliciously simple, bistro-inspired dishes done the Southern way — comfortable yet special, casual yet elegant, and a bit curious and undefined.A Southern version of the quaint cafes in Paris, with the sophistication and casual flare of New York City bistros, incorporating the flavors, culture and lagniappe of Louisiana was to us the perfect and distinct approach.

What sets Ichiban distinctively apart from other sushi restaurants is flavor. You can actually taste specific individual ingredients in each roll. The flavors combine and complement each other…they create a sensation like few other sushi restaurants have accomplished. It’s more interesting to eat something with distinctive textures and personality than those with limited flavor denotations…relying on heavy sweet sauces.Ichiban means ‘number 1’ in Japanese. Mixing traditional with blazingly contemporary, the food, beverage and dining experience of Ichiban is carefully designed to elevate any lunch or dinner. At first glance, you might think the name of Rouj Creole is misspelled. Besides “rouj” instead of “roux,” a quick scan of the new restaurant’s menu shows the word “gonbo” where you’d expect to find “gumbo.”But owner Stephen Hightower isn’t a bad speller. He’s just bringing Baton Rouge a taste of Creole cuisine—complete with the authentic Haitian Creole spelling of traditional dishes.
