Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Overall, our visit for a Christmas brunch with family was a success. Food was great, but it took quite a while for food to come out of the kitchen. Rumor was, there were only two cooks in the kitchen. The waitress did a good job of delivering our food asbsoon as it was ready. Everything was extremely hot when it came out. The prime rib was good, but it was pre-sliced and sitting out for a while. No hand-carving? Overall, B grade.

Great food and good service. Well taken care of and out in an hour on a Saturday night. Cocktails were very well made and Vegan options were offered for my wife. Will be back!

Soba lounge is excellent. We had two apps, three different entrees and 2 desserts and each was packed with flavor and beautifully plated. I recommend the rare tuna entree, the mushrooms on the appetizers - and the chocolate maki.
