Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Calgary

Had a wonderful experience with friends sitting at the “roost” which is the chefs counter. Our server Sarah was excellent and one of a kind! She gave us perfect cocktail recommendations and was friendly and attentive. It was nice getting to speak with the chefs as well Vita worked magic with preparing beautiful desserts. Will be bringing clients here in the future!

Enjoyed our dinner last night. All the steaks (4 out of 5 of us ordered steak) were excellent. The person who had the short rib also enjoyed their meal. Cheese toast - no. Disappointed. Kind of an odd focaccia type bread which lacked cheese and flavour. Mac and cheese was also quite dry and disappointing. Creamed corn, fries and fingerling potatoes were great. Appreciated the sparkler on the dessert as we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. Served seemed new/inexperienced. I think he will figure things out in time (it took us 20 min to get food menus) but needs some more practice with the meat board and build confidence. Food came out exactly as ordered, but took a while. Thank you for a lovely meal.

I brought my wife here for her birthday, and thanks to the kind and attentive staff, it was an unforgettable evening. Located in the Fairmont in downtown Calgary, Hawthorn delivers extravagance in its setting, decor, and, most importantly, its incredible food. That said, with such extravagance, be prepared to pay equally extravagant prices.

The service by Pascal was excellent as usual. We appreciate the seat a birthday and a date was excellence and appreciate Paul and group looking after us. She really enjoyed it and made her birthday! Thank you

Stopped in at the bar for an early Dinner. Curtis and Jean Luc were awesome made us feel like we had been coming there for years. It was so nice to be in a restaurant where everyone is working as a team and really showed they cared about our experience. Everyone who walked by us took a minute to check on us and ensure we were having an awesome experience. Food was 100%. Ceaser salad for two was huge, tangy and full of perfectly crispy pancetta. Extra crunchy Veal Parm was so tender inside with an awesomely surprising cheese blend bubbling hot and stringy. Great night. Thank you. Lisa and Casey
