Best Family Style Restaurants in Monterey

Great place for cozy night out with family, friends, or date night. Food was delicious and a decent selection of options for happy hour too.

What an epicurean adventure you will have on a Wednesday night at the Covey. Chef Goran creates the most exquisitely delicious,varied and artfully prepared food imaginable.Waitstaff are incredible. We are so lucky to have this gem in Carmel Valley.

I found this place in the magazine and turned out to be a fantastic restaurant by the water ! Easy to find and there are plenty of street parking! The staff were wonderful and amazing services ! I will visit this place again soon ! There are many shopping places near by as well!

Such a great restaurant. We were there early (long story), but were seated anyway. Monterey had just experienced a huge rainstorm and power outage (although Fisherman's Wharf seems to have gotten its power back sooner than the neighboring area). The servers and staff were unbothered and waitstaff was prompt, cordial, and friendly. Plus the food was great! you can't go wrong with seafood in Monterey. But this was a notch up.

Great food, cute location, friendly server! Also had live music- a bonus since it was unplanned-for. Since we had a group of 4, we went for the "small" island basket, which was 3 entrees and 2 appetizers on a giant woven basket / platter. Very special experience (and SO much food :-) Only downside was that we'd originally made lunch reservations but the restaurant was clearly not open when we showed up (on time for the reservation itself; half an hour after the restaurant's opening time for the day). Ended up going in for dinner instead (hence the "unplanned" part of the live music). Would highly recommend, aside from the owner's opening-up glitch.
