- WWendieVIPWashington, D.C. Area •105 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWent for the 4 course Christmas Lunch based on the menu posted online (lots of seafood). We were happy that we landed on The Pembroke! Started with cocktails from the holiday menu - a mescal & a bourbon drink. Yummy. Raw & charcuterie bar was next. The stone crabs were a bit hard to manage because we didn't have crackers or lobster forks, but we made it work. Appetizers consisted of seared scallop (minus bacon) & lobster bisque, both of which were done to perfection. Entree was turbot, which was also cooked to perfection & the accompanying clams were the highlight for me. Dessert was ok, but the weakness of the meal - I had sorbet & my friend had Mont Blanc, which was definitely different than the usual format. I did like the addition of coffee ice cream on it - definitely the highlight of the dessert. Staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. Our server, Daniel, was extra attentive, but everyone chipped in to assist. Would definitely go back for a special occasion! Thank you for making Christmas a unique experience!More infoThe PembrokePrice: Expensive• Global, International• Dupont Circle•4.5
- WWillWashington, D.C. Area •7 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe ordered many things and nothing disappointed. We tried all three devil eggs, hush puppies, firecracker shrimp, and wings for appetizers. There were only three of us and we ate all of it. For mains we had the scallops (special for the week), Rib Eye, and the chicken and waffles. All of it was fantastic. We had two chocolate desserts. The desserts were good but a bit rich.More infoSuccotash PRIMEPrice: Moderate• American• Penn Quarter•4.6
- AAlanNew Orleans / Louisiana •6 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWonderful service and food. Really love the ambiance and the quality. Only down side was the 5% charge added to the bill, notated as NOT a tip but a service charge due to increasing cost to run the business. As a business owner myself I would not charge a fee rather if you need more money just charge more for your items. We tip 20% minimum everywhere we go but to be charged an extra 5% on top of the bill seems strange. Some people will just leave when they see that. I guess I appreciate the honesty however considering the menus are printed daily at this restaurant they could just raise the prices and then no one would be aware or need to know about the extra "we're hurting and business is tough" charge. Again - I own businesses. I understand. It's been rough the past two years.More infoCentrolinaPrice: Very Expensive• Italian• Penn Quarter•4.6
- PPaulWashington, D.C. Area •9 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe restaurant, bar and lounge areas spread out across multiple rooms / terraces / levels so it is a really intimate and fun layout. Excellent service and value. Price for classic drinks skewed a tad high in my opinion. I'll try and catch a happy hour sometime and the jazz performances.More infoTabard InnPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Dupont Circle•4.7
