From the moment we arrived, the warm ambiance and attentive staff set the tone for a fantastic evening. 🥂✨ The service was outstanding—our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed with recommendations and drink refills. Every detail was handled with care, making us feel truly taken care of. 💫 The food was absolutely top-notch 🍽️🔥. We indulged in a beautifully prepared meal, with each dish hitting the mark on flavour, presentation, and quality. The cocktails 🍸 were expertly mixed, adding an extra touch of sophistication to our celebration. What made the night even more special was the atmosphere—lively yet intimate, making it a great spot for both date nights 💕 and family gatherings 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. Joey’s continues to be a favourite for us, and this experience only reinforced why. Excellent meal, as always. Dry ribs to start were very tasty and done in the oven to avoid cross contamination re gluten allergy. Started us at the door with a little champagne for V Day; very classy. Only complaint was the cold temperature by the windows. Ladies with cute outfits had to wear their coats which defeated their V day efforts. Thank you to Steve and the crew for a wonderful evening. ❤️

Wonderful experience here at Mati for our first visit. The ambience was cozy and staff was welcoming. We sat at the bar which was lively, we enjoyed chatting with the bartender who thoroughly went through the menu as it was our first time. We started with a few cocktails, and enjoyed our starters: the burata and the spicy rolls. For our mains, I had the ribeye and shoestring fries, my gf had the branzino with a side of Brussels sprouts and parm. The presentation and the quality was exceptional. They also accommodated my gf’s dietary restriction. Definitely will go back, and may bring some friends along to pass on the food and drink adventure!

So far we have only ever had positive experiences at State & Main in Barrhaven. Their staff are truly awesome. Great food, fast service, and favourable noise levels the majority of the time!
