Best Date Night Restaurants in Distillery District

Dear Joey’s Team, I’ve always loved dining at Joey’s. Your food is consistently delicious, and I often recommend your restaurant to friends. However, during my recent visit, I noticed a few changes and experiences that I wanted to share. Firstly, I was disappointed to see that the guacamole appetizer has been removed from the menu and replaced with ricotta. While the ricotta is good, I truly miss the guacamole—it was one of my favorite starters, and many of my friends feel the same. I hope you consider bringing it back in the future! Additionally, the service experience this time didn’t quite meet your usual high standards. For instance, we were served our appetizer but didn’t receive side plates to eat with, which made it a bit inconvenient. Also, I had requested a booth during booking, but we were seated at a high table instead, even though there were several empty booths that remained unoccupied throughout our visit. I’m sharing this feedback because I truly enjoy dining at Joey’s and want to see it continue to be the excellent experience I’ve come to expect. Thank you for taking the time to listen, and I hope to see some improvements on my next visit.

I recently visited Daphne for the second time, and celebrated by birthday. One key factor for me recommending this spot and for me coming back time after time is the consistency. The food, service, ambiance and vibe is my type. An elegant intimate space that is not too crowded but spacious enough to accommodate the ideal amount of guests to help curate a beautiful and memorable experience. It's also no huge surprise that I've gravitate to this spot as Daphne is managed under the same umbrella as some of my other favourites - Bisha, Oliver Bonicini and Sofia. Once again, the consistency is on point.

Overall we were very happy with the food and the chef. A couple of things to not for the service. When people are seated, we are cautioned not to move the little wet tissue for cleaning fingers. There should be a proper wer tissue provided to all guests to clean their fingers before starting the service, considering that it is expected to eat each piece with your fingers. Second, we felt rushed as our bill was showed to our faces half way through the dessert which was kind of rude. We wanted to enjoy the experience to the fullest but servers constantly pushing agsinst our backs unexpectedly was a distraction. Will try now other Omakase places in Toronto for comparison.

We got the Arancini for a starter and it was amazing. So tasty. My fiancé got the burger as a main, and he said he really enjoyed it. I got tiger prawns and it was so tasty, perfect amount of food. Wine on tap was delicious and an amazing deal! Will be back

Everything was wonderful! Food and drinks were very unique. Beautiful place and loved the fact that music was not loud as it seems to be the case in most places these days. One tiny issue I had was how long cocktails took to get ready which discouraged us to order a second drink.
