Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton—the women behind Canal House Station—are cooks, writers, and artists. In 2007 they founded Canal House, which includes a publishing venture and a culinary, photography, and design studio. Their cookbook "Canal House Cooks Every Day" received a James Beard Award in 2012.     Hidden gem worth the trip from NYC. Friendly and attentive staff. Dishes are an interesting combination of flavors and local farm to table selections such as the Wild Boar Chops and Red Snapper with crabmeat. Nice wine and Single Malt choices with a comfortable bar. Fresh, elevated and delicious. Live music on Wednesday to Saturday.

    We loved everything about our Lunch. Had the Mussels in the Calabrian Chill tomato broth and we each had the chicken milanese. Our meal was delicious. Our cocktails prior to lunch were fantastic. And the atmosphere and ambiance were awesome. We will definitely be going back

    Best burgers whether with Boursin or bacon and fabulous wine selection and pairing suggestions. Happy to see Willamette Valley Vineyard wines. Yummy chocolate lava cake too. Service is polite and efficient and atmosphere is charming.

    Strip steak was excellent, but it should be for the price and the portion size. There is no more complementary bread basket – you need to pay $16 for Parker house rolls dessert which was the apple cobbler was missing the whipped cream.
