This is an excellent inn, with really good food even in the week after Christmas. Despite having only a few diners, the ambience is great with fires both ends of the pub and fabulous service. Thank you Jake and Zoe

It was a quiet Monday night so nice to find somewhere in Hastings open. Not too many people there but just enough for it to feel lively-ish. Staff were friendly and kind to our dog. Service very good. The food was delicious. There were 3 of us, 2 had the venison with trimmings, very flavoursome. The other had the ham and eggs which was also very good. Wine also nice.

Absolutely outstanding Sunday lunch. Probably the best we have ever had in a pub. Great staff. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Fabulous roast lamb and the vegetarian option on this day was a mushroom pie with all the roast trimmings. You know it's a good pie when each forkful has a mushroom on it!! Great cauliflower cheese. Plenty of gravy. We will be back.
