We are a modern restaurant housed in an automotive garage that dates back to the 1940s. During the pre-interstate period of America, people and families often traveled across storied highways such as Route 40, Lincoln Highway or Route 66, encountering regional foods and a variety of cultural influences along the way.In that spirit, our seasonal menu will be a ‘road trip’ that explores some of those mid-western, southern, south-western, and western dishes and techniques. Just like a garage, we will tinker with and adjust them to put together something that will make your trip to see us memorable.

Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. This is our first visit. The food was great. Everything was served piping hot, not just warm. It's nice to get fries that are not only hand cut and cooked to perfection but almost too hot when the arrive at your table. We both had steak sandwiches. They were packed with so much meat as well as the other ingredients that a bunch fell out onto the plate. Service was great considering it was very busy. We will be back again!

My wife and I had our pre-pens game meal at Fig and Ash and they provided a top tier dining experience. From the server to the food presentation, we were very impressed. We also thought the menu was fairly priced for the service and food provided. We highly recommend this restaurant as one of Pittsburgh’s best. Cheers!

The menu is quite limited, but possibly that is why what they serve is very good. The beet salad was exceptional, our entrees were quite good and the chocolate ganache was great. Wide selections of beer and wine. Service was great. Only suggestion - which is minor was both my husband and I had entrees with a sauce at the bottom of the chicken and salmon - both sauces were a little cold. Maybe it was plated before the meat and fish were done or maybe cool bowls??
