Best Casual Restaurants in Oxnard

 Our Thanksgiving experience was great. We are very impressed with the quality of the meal and selection. Everything is wonderful. We were a little surprised with the extra $60 service charge on top of our bill. No one had shared that fee but overall we are grateful for Thanksgiving. 

We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner at Tierra Sur. We had reservations for 2:00 p.m. which really turned out perfect since it was before the rush. The Thanksgiving menu was limited but special. After selecting our wine for dinner, Sam, our server, brought out a plate of sliced bread with garlic oil. For the first course, my husband had the pumpkin soup and I had the salad. I selected the cedar plank salmon while my husband elected to go for the traditional turkey roulade. My salmon was cooked to perfection! The sides were served family style and included dressing (stuffing), mashed potatoes, green beans with almonds, and a wild rice in a squash gourd plus turkey gravy and cranberry sauce. Everything was delicious. We both selected the pumpkin pie for dessert. My husband paired his meal with the Herzog Special Reserve Chardonnay (2022) from the Russian River Valley. I enjoy bold reds so I chose the Herzog Special Reserve Quartet (2021).

Service was great. All of the pasta was outstanding, the salads were very average. Appetizer (roasted garlic bruschetta was outstanding.

We always enjoy this gem, and it was extra special when we got one of our favorite waitresses, Jennie!

Our server was enthusiastic. We never felt rushed, and the staff was attentive throughout our visit. **Ambiance**: The ambiance is vibrant and colorful, with traditional Mexican decor that creates a festive atmosphere. The lively music and bright artwork contribute to the overall experience, making it a fun spot for gatherings with friends or family. **Price**: Pricing is quite reasonable it offers great value for a casual dining experience. **Overall Experience**: This place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine. The combination of flavorful dishes, excellent service, and a lively atmosphere makes it a great place for a casual night out or a fun celebration. I will definitely be returning!
