Nestled in the heart of Ashtown Village, Dublin 15, overlooking the Royal Canal, The Lock Keeper can be found at Lock #10. Steeped in heritage, this double lock was constructed c.1792. With quality stonework and attractive sloping edges Lock 10 is one of 46 along the Royal Canal and continues to be a testament to the skill of the craftsmen involved. Our bar is adjacent to the Lock Keepers House, a post that became obsolete in 1961 when the canal was closed to traffic the previous year. The Royal Canal, which runs from the River Liffey to the River Shannon and stretches a distance of 145km, was originally built for freight and passenger transportation with the last working barges ceasing to operate in 1951.Now beautifully maintained by Irish Waterways, you are welcome to visit The Lock Keeper by canoeing, walking or cycling from Dublin City Centre. Great food. Best staff in Dublin. Prices unbelievable in today's economy. Adults kids everyone had a ball. Every year we're making it our business to have pre Christmas dinner at the Forge. Will eat there at other times but this will be a new family tradition. Best in dublin. The real dublin 11/10.

ELY is a standout dining destination that combines exceptional food with a cozy, sophisticated atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the staff's warm welcome and attentive service set the tone for an unforgettable experience. The star of the menu was, without a doubt, the steak. A true masterpiece, it was perfectly cooked to my exact preference and oozed flavor with every bite. The tender, juicy cut was seasoned impeccably and seared to perfection, leaving a subtle smokiness that elevated the dish. Accompanied by chips, a rich red wine jus, and crisp seasonal greens, the meal was as well-balanced as it was indulgent. Beyond the steak, ELY's menu is diverse and thoughtfully curated. The starter of caramelized scallops was a delightful surprise, with a touch of citrus that enhanced their sweetness. For dessert, the chocolate mousse with a velvety texture and rich cocoa flavor offered a refreshing finish. While ELY's prices reflect its premium quality, the exceptional flavors and top-tier service make it worth every euro. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving an excellent meal, ELY delivers an experience that’s second to none. A must-visit for steak lovers and food enthusiasts alike!

Booked slevins for a family meal. Was giving the raised area, could watch the euros comfortably. Waiter very promptly came and took our order, and told us the days specials. We received our drinks followed swiftly by our main course. Afterwards we were told there was music out in the beer garden. So we went to investigate. And ended up staying for the evening. Music whatas fabulous. Service was great. Overall the evening was fantastic
