Even though Post is a new name for most of us, it has been an important part of South Hamilton history since 1924. The historic building at 16 Bay Rd. was home to the South Hamilton Post Office, and a place for residents to send and pick up letters. In response to the Great Depression, and a drop in the postage rate (from three cents to 2 cents), the Postmaster added more opportunities for residents to pick up their mail. At Post, which at the time was known as “the brick block building”, letters were piled on a table, and a bell was rung to let residents know that they could come and retrieve their mail. We made a reservation weeks in advance for my boyfriend's birthday. When we arrived, the host and hostess were very professional. I left a note about his birthday and this was acknowledged throughout the evening. We were seated promptly and ordered with our server, who was fantastic the entire evening, a real pro! The appetizer, entree, and desserts were all delicious and we can't wait to return.

Wanted to find a new local place for date night dinner and found Ellis Square Social. Perfect vibe for us on a cold winter evening! Fun cocktails not overly proofy. My entree of pork chop with pumpkin bread pudding, apples, and mushrooms was excellent and my husband really enjoyed his grilled cheese with brisket that came with a huge pile of thin fries. Sticky toffee pudding we got for dessert was so good! Our waitress was lovely and helpful. Can’t wait to go back.

Our Bartender was excellent! The food was amazing! We got the steak and eggs and the breakfast wrap! Absolutely amazing!! Can’t wait to go back! But the star was the lemon ricotta donuts served warm with homemade jam!!!
