Situated in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, The Vintner is a natural meeting place, be it for a coffee or something a little stronger in the café / bar, a meal in our restaurant or when getting together more formally in our Private Dining Room.We have a diverse and thoughtful menu, locally-sourced and seasonally adjusted, as well as a comprehensive range of fine wines and beers from all over the world.'The Vintner' derives its name from the year 1600, when John Smith traded, along with his wife, as a wine merchant (vintner) in this building. There are two dining spaces at Cotswold House, as well as an option to have lunch or dinner at our sister property The Noel Arms directly opposite. The juxtaposition of our relaxed Cocktail Bar area and sophisticated Hidcote Brasserie & Grill restaurant creates a two-concept dining experience. Linked together, these spaces offer the best of both worlds. The Chipping Campden Cocktail Bar offers an informal dining experience, this is where the bar is located so expect a livelier vibe, cocktail shakers, the gurgling espresso machine and locals coming and going. Dogs are welcome too. Hidcote Brasserie & Grill is a little more sedentary, romantic even, and is located in a beautiful high ceilinged Regency room. The same menu is served in both spaces for dinner. The Chipping Campden Cocktail Bar offers a wide range of wines by the glass, as well as an enviable Gin selection. A cocktail list is also on offer, with a choice of classics or something new to try.

Awarded ‘The Best Pub or Bar in Coventry & Warwickshire 2022’ at the prestigious Foodie Awards, The Coach House is a must-visit pub! Located in the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon, on Rother Street, it boasts over 475-years of history between its characterful walls. Recently refurbished, the welcoming décor pays tribute to Stratford’s most famous former resident, William Shakespeare as well as incorporating a nod to its owners, the historic Brewing House, Davenports which was established in 1829. You can expect great ales, whilst the attractive central bar is well-stocked with popular spirits and boasts a super cocktail menu which are freshly prepared to order. Choose to dine in the comfy snug or around one of the tables indoors, there’s also a wonderful garden terrace with heaters to the rear, and alfresco tables on warmer days to the front of the pub. The food menu never fails to impress, with a focus on quality, locally sourced ingredients.

The restaurant was busy on Saturday night in the lead-up to Christmas, but it was easy to find. A little noisy, which was fully expected. Despite her hectic schedule, our restaurant attendant Anastasia was attentive and considerate of my dairy intolerance. The starters and main courses were delicious; however, I thought the dessert selection was limited for those who avoid dairy. We would be happy to return, as we had a wonderful experience.

Totally exceeded my expectations. Fabulous service, setting and food. Beautiful calm, graceful ambience with warm helpful staff and every item on the menu was first rate. A pleasant surprise that unlimited teas, any type of coffee and hot chocolate were included in afternoon tea and the rose fizz to accompany goes perfectly as an add on. A special start to Christmas and a refined yet relaxed oasis in which to enjoy it at leisure. Highly recommended thank you - we will be back.
