This was our first time to The Heritage House. Dinner midweek to celebrate a family birthday. The restaurant was pretty quiet - 2 large family groups 4 couples and my family of 4. Probably 30 diners in total. Plenty of wait staff on duty and a restaurant Manager. The venue itself is superbly unique (I'd love to know the history) and offers a range of seating options including, indoor, terrace and garden. We were indoors in a very well appointed dining room with great views out to the Blue Mountains. My immediate impression was that the staff (with the exception of 1 member who served us) were all very young and new to the restaurant. I have no complaints about the service which was good, but there was a lack of warmth and interest from the majority of staff as they focused on service. I expect this will improve over time, but the venue has a natural feel for more mature, seasoned staff. The Manager was very attentive and given the restaurant quietness, was a bit 'omnipresent'. My post dinner conversation with him confirmed the 'new staff' thought as he advised he was in his first week. Positively, he was open to feedback and took it constructively and asked for us to visit again to see how he and the staff have improved in the future. The food is very good quality - zucchini flowers, calamari and prawn toast all well cooked, beautifully presented and tasty. Barramundi, gnocchi, prawn aglio e olio and eye fillet steak mains were even better than the starters. They have a very extensive drinks list, wines, tap beer with the highlight being the 'Fairytale' cocktail, made with fresh passion fruit pulp a real winner. Being relatively new and in a reasonably competitive area - Round Corner, Dural etc. I hope they get the marketing right as The Heritage House. It has the potential to be a real destination venue for all of Sydney in the Hills District. We will be back, probably a lunchtime Sunday sitting where we were advised the atmosphere is more lively.

I had the Wagyu Noodle and Lobster omelette at Auvers in Rhodes. Wagyu Noodle: The sauce had a subtle mushroom flavor, which made it really rich and aromatic. The presentation was stunning, especially with those crispy cheese chips. They added a nice texture to the dish. But only three pieces of the wagyu, bit pricey. The Lobster Omelette was a delightful surprise. It had a slightly sweet flavor that balanced perfectly with the creamy texture. Based with 🥐, loved how the sweetness wasn’t overpowering, and the presentation with the fish roe on top made it feel so luxurious. The brunch at Auvers in Rhodes was not just delicious but also beautifully plated. It’s a feast for both the eyes and the palate! I enjoyed how creative the flavors were, and the combination of sweet and savory was really well-balanced. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for something both artistic and flavorful.

Everything was lovely as usual (we've been there quite often) just the aircon was a bit on the too-chilled side. Food came out quickly and was delicious as always. Love that all the cocktails can be mocktails too!
