Best Authentic Restaurants in Rye

It was our first time at La Maison Navarre and we were a group of 6 for dinner. The food, wine and service was excellent. We're definitely looking forward to our next visit.

My family and I (6 in all) enjoyed an excellent dinner last night. We were celebrating my granddaughter's 21st, and they graciously provided a celebratory glass of Prosecco, and made a point of coming over to add his congradulations. Nothing but praise for the entire experience. That being said, one word of caution...parking is very difficult so if you don't know Portsmouth please give yourself some extra time and figure out how to get to a parking garage and walk to the restaurant. I was lucky and found a spot 50 feet from the front door....but my kids took 15 minutes to sort it out.

I don't think anything can match this for festiveness and tastiness--such a lovely place to bring a family celebration, and it's been decorated just beautifully for this Christmas and New Year! There's food to please everyone and we are always treated thoughtfully and kindly by the staff. We were glad to be seated further back in the restaurant early in our dinner--the live music is a terrific tradition, but nearer the bar it can make things a bit challenging for conversation.

The food was good, service also good. Eric was our server and did a good job with his colleagues to take good care of our needs. Much appreciated, thanks! Gets a bit loud in there but no complaints. Definitely will be back!!

After a big mishap, with Instacart, on Christmas Eve that left my daughter and I without supplies for the Christmas dinner we had planned. On Christmas morning I was scrambling to find a place, that was open, and found Two-Fifty Market on Open Table and immediately booked a reservation for 2pm. It was a little bit of a drive for us but was well worth it. It was an all you can eat buffet and the food was quite good (especially the dessert). We are considering making it a new tradition. It is in a hotel and the lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We spent about 2 and a half hours there and didn’t feel rushed at all. I would definitely recommend their Christmas dinner. It was lovely!
