A new dining experience at the Hilton El Conquistador. Literally translated as "Mexican Tea", Epazote is prominently used in Southwest cuisine to add spicy yet earthy flavor somewhat reminiscent of fennel. Inspired by this flavor and the traditions of the Southwest.

Enjoy Southwestern dishes featuring locally sourced specialties such as Poblano Peppers for Rellenos, Arizona raised Free-Range Chicken, selected cheeses and Arizona grown produce. Along with your meal, you will enjoy some of the most spectacular views of Pusch Ridge, on the outdoor patio.

Featuring a wide selection of tequilas, locally brewed beers and Arizona Wines. Those looking to sample a taste of the Southwest will be able to select from a bar menu of delectable options ideal for a shared dinner or snack.

When we arrived at the venue the hostess ignored us while we stood there waiting to be seated, finally I approached her and told her we had a reservation. She grabbed the menu and said follow me. We went to table right by the entrance and she said here is your table. I asked her if there was a table closer to the windows - it was New Years Eve and we wanted some ambiance. She said "No, we have other people that have reservations. It's New Years Eve." I am a reasonable person and I understand a packed house. But at that point there were plenty of open tables and I too had a reservation. It wasn't like I just walked up. The table she seated us at wobbed back and forth as you ate, it was too brightly lit and noisy. The atmosphere was not what I wanted for a special night and the food has greatly gone downhill. The server was friendly, but not the caliber that you would expect from fine dining. This place greatly needs to step it up. I really wish we would have just gone to The Keg. I have a reservation to go to SpaWell at this same hotel and I questioning if that too will be a poor experience.

Food and service were excellent. The only reason i downgraded it to a 4 stars was because of the hostess. She was taking us to our table and there were 4 open tables for two. The one she wanted to put us at was next to a big party. I asked her politely if we could take the one at the other end and she said “no this is the one assigned you”. I looked at her shook my head and said “really”. Looked at the other three open tables shook my head and we sat down. I was not going to let her ruin my evening by getting mad or walking out. But she is not really someone you want to start your evening with. Luckily the waiter was great, as was the food. Mgmt opportunity to do some customer service training….

Not sure what happened but unfortunately our first time in and we waited one hour after placing our order to get our food. I nearly walked out but hubby insisted we’d waited too long for that. Instead the manager offered to buy our drink and gratis desserts. It helped a bit but still not sure we’d rush back here. My short rib tacos were good but hubby’s pork chop, though thick with a yummy bbq sauce, was overcooked. With so many good restaurants in Tucson this was just so-so in our experience. Too bad. I’d gotten presumptively dressed up and everyone else was in ath-leisure wear.

The food was so-so. I had a caesar salad with chicken and the one I make at home is much more flavorful. Fries were quite good. All other meals at our table were ok, not great. My biggest complaint was seating. I made a reservation a week in advance and there were many time slots available at the time, so I know I was among the earliest to book for Christmas Day. The day of, we considered moving our reservation later but found the place was booked til 8 pm so we kept our original reservation. When we arrived, we were seated at a booth next to the entrance door. There were several tables (not booths) available further in the restaurant with much better ambiance and festive lighting, and I asked for a table in that location (most were empty). I was told no, I had been assigned this exact table. There is no way I was lower on the reservation list given what I saw on open table. As the night went on, there were tables in the area I had asked to sit in that stayed empty. Server was great, but the overall experience was a bit of a let-down given the food was just ok, and our seating and the explanation given just could not have been true.

We had a delightful Christmas dinner on the outdoor patio at sunset. We were provided with space heaters and blankets so were quite comfy. The service was fantastic and the artificial “snow” an amusing experience!

I’ve dined here several times and always had positive experiences. Very disappointed. I ordered a side of grilled asparagus “ al dente” The server asked me: “ what’s Al dente?” I replied: “ not overcooked, firm. Needless to say, the asparagus arrived “ mushy loaded with pepper!” Inedible!! I am a vegetarian, I’ve order on previous visits, no issue.. I asked the server to please remake them. The 2nd order came out the same exact way. When I asked for the manager, “ the server, responded: “ she’s busy!” The salad was fair. Not as fresh as I have had in the past. I suggested this restaurant to my friend, because I’ve always enjoyed it. Very disappointing.
