The New York steak is delicious, came out with a delicious smoked flavor, the cook was perfect for what we ordered. We also had the ceviche and it was delicious. I highly recommend both entrées. It’s a very pretty restaurant and the building is really cool.

The ambience was the main reason we went there. Really an ancient dwelling in old San Juan. Wood was average. Biggest drawback was it was not air condioned.

We stoped in El Adador for dinner this evening after arriving in Old San Juan this afternoon. So glad we did! We found the restaurant to be much better than many of the online reviews implied. Service was good, we had Salvador, attentive yet inobtrusive! For beverages/food we started with Sangria and a Bombay Sapphire martini, up with olives. Both drinks were very good! We followed with appetizers, the lentil soup and ceviche… both were excellent! The ceviche was not a large quantity, but what it lacked in size it made up for in flavor.one of the best ceviches we’ve had in quite an awhile. We next tried the mofongo with shredded beef, and the dulce de leche crepes. The meat was good and tender, seasoned and cooked well. The mofongos crust was made with yucca and was very good! The crepes were to die for, light and flakey served piping hot! He’d definitely go back! Highly recommend Al Asador in Old San Juan!

This restaurant has surpassed my expectations. The food was delicious, service was impeccable and the rustic look of the restaurant was everything. A beautiful classy place to dine in. I highly recommend it.
