The first Thai rotary hot pot restaurant in Chicago would introduce a unique and interactive dining experience similar to Japanese conveyor belt sushi, but with hot pot dining. In this concept, diners sit around a rotating conveyor belt that carries various ingredients like vegetables, meats, seafood, and noodles. Diners can pick the ingredients of their choice and cook them in individual hot pots right at the table.Rotary hot pot dining encourages a social and customizable meal experience where each person selects their broth and ingredients to create personalized dishes. It’s an evolving trend in Asian dining, particularly popular in Japan and some parts of Thailand.

The key to Indie Cafe’s success is simple cuisine, elegantly prepared. Chef Iggy Waranon's dishes feature a dynamic combination of savory Thai and simple Japanese cuisine, with an emphasis on the original flavor of the fresh ingredients. Fresh and seasonal fish is often touched by cilantro-infused oils, miso dressing, and Asian citrus for pop and personality. Indie Cafe's fun, casual, and modern Asian interior also lends itself to a comfortable and cozy night with friends. Before the rolls arrive, order up a Ginger or Lychee Martini to whet the appetite. Oh—and for an added bonus, they’re mere steps from the beach.Best New Restaurants, Chicago magazine America's Top Japanese Restaurants, 2008 Zagat

This little Noble Square BYOB serves classic Thai noodle and rice dishes (aromatic curries are among the menu highlights) and sushi. The sushi menu focuses on nigiri and maki; expect plenty of house specialty rolls. The decor in the minimalist two-room space is a step up from your usual neighborhood Thai joint, with candlelit tables and clean, modern lines throughout.

My girlfriend and I decided to check out BITES for restaurant week and we were not disappointed! It's a pretty intimate space so you might want to book a bit ahead if you want a primo time slot--but they got us in with a same day reso at 8:30 no problem. We both did the spicy crab rangoons for first course which were AMAZING. Definitely worth the hype. She did the coconut shrimp which were large and came with the same sweet chili sauce as the crab rangoons. I had the chashu pork bao which was super tender and flavorful. For mains she did the Panang Salmon while I did the Kalbi Short ribs--by this point we were starting to fill up and both took home togo boxes but everything tasted great. The kimchi fried rice was spice and flavorful. We both tried the tempura brownies and matcha ice cream which were so good and paired perfectly. Overall a great experience and we HIGHLY suggest checking them out during CRW!

We decided to travel north from the south side on a Friday evening not sure what to expect. We were not disappointed. Small intimate and comfortable setting; fantastic service; food was excellent. Really made our Friday night special. Many thanks to the owner, chef and staff for providing such a wonderful “getaway” experience on a chilly Friday night in Chicago. Will go back again!

Had a great experience at an early Sunday dinner. The happy hour situation allowed us to try a ton of apps. Fantastic... especially the pork meatballs and the prawns. Entrees were great, too -- she had the sea bass and I had the duck curry. We also shared a papaya salad, which was both bright and spicy! The birthday dessert ice cream was a nice touch. Overall, a very pleasant, delicious dining experience!

Packages are a bit pricy but have a good selection on menu and rotary bar. Staff don’t come by often enough for you to order more food off menu.
