Best Steakhouses in South Side

Our overall experience was excellent! Our Server, has served us before @ the bar. He has always been personable & provides great service. Last night, in the dining room he created an excellent dining experience for our holiday visit to Chicago. Thank You to our Server & his entire support staff.

First time at El Che and it did not disappoint! Ambience is so cute. For apps we got the beef and mushroom empanada. Beef was amazing. My husband and I shared the Steak, Lobster and Beef Fat Fries for our entree. Steak was perfectly cooked and one of the best steaks I've had next to Bavettes. Lobster diavolo was soo good, that sauce! Added a side of the sauce with the fries, chef's kiss! We both had pisco sours for our drinks. For dessert, we shared the horchata and dulce de leche gelato, don't skip on dessert! Highly recommend El Che and will definitely be back!

We booked this restaurant to celebrate some December birthdays. Our party of 6 absolutely enjoyed our meal. The service was fantastic. They walked through the menu and made suggestions on portions to order for the size of our group. The table was constantly cleared of empty plates and always asked if anything was needed. They were also sure to consider any allergies in the group. The food was amazing! We were able to try a number of dishes as well as the sets and ribeye. For the meat, they cooked it at the table and was excellent. Will be back in the future.

10/10 would come back again. Good holiday drinks and food was superb. Waitress was busy but managed to continually ask how we were doing. Restaurant stayed on top of the fact we were going to a play later that night and kept us on track to be at theatre on time.

Absolutely outstanding meal! We sat at the hearth and got to see the kitchen staff cooking everything up, while soaking in all of that great wood fired smell! Reanna our waitress was top notch, and always checking in on us to make sure we were well taken care of. The head chef Mike was nice enough to take some time and talk us through the menu, describe some of the cooking processes and his recommendations were spot on! We can’t wait to get back and try more options on their menu!
