Best Steakhouses in Mayfair

Truly spectacular, as always. I’ve been to Frisco, Ruth Chris’, Flemmings, and non chain steakhouses and 801 is superior in every way, from the service (complimentary valet and coat check), pacing, friendly formality, and most of all the salads, steaks, and desserts. (For seafood, stick to the lobster or pan roast). Full bar is excellent- order whatever you want, not just what’s listed on the menu. My only criticism is that I much prefer booths, and lots of the restaurant is tables. Don’t be afraid to order the “cheap” steaks- they are the best I’ve ever had (I prefer the strip).

We chose to sit in the lounge, which had a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe—perfect for an intimate celebration. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism, but it was Chris, the hostess, who truly made our evening unforgettable. Chris’s hospitality and knowledge were exceptional. She greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel like valued guests from the very start. Throughout the evening, she checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and offered thoughtful recommendations that made our meal even more special. Her suggestion of the Chilean Sea Bass was spot on—it was tender, flaky, and full of flavor, truly one of the best dishes we’ve ever had. While our server, Stacie, was attentive and efficient, it was Chris’s expertise and personal care that truly elevated our experience. She made sure that every detail of our anniversary celebration was perfect, offering a level of service that felt both professional and personal. Whether it was offering wine pairing to her amazing cocktail suggestions, or making us feel like we were the most important people in the room, Chris’s warm, thoughtful hospitality was a true highlight of the evening. Amazing service, Ryan Dane! He managed our food allergies thoughtfully and without issue, and was just super fun to interact with. Food was amazing-cocktails delish, Brussels sprouts to die for, and the steak, top notch! And my 20 something kiddos raved about the play list! Great ambience, service, and food. A wonderful experience overall!!!

A fabulous experience in every way! My husband and I (big foodies) went the night after Christmas for dinner with my in-laws and the food and service were excellent. We ordered the crispy rice with spicy tuna, french onion soup and two salads to start which were all delicious. Same for our entrees: the black cod, 16oz ribeye, pork chop and 4 oz sirloin with the truffle gnocchi, brussel sprouts and carrots on the side. Our server and the chef were very accommodating to my MIL's strict restrictions / modifications. If you can request a server, ask for Jonathan. Since pre-covid, service at restaurants has been fairly disappointing, but not here. Jonathan was by far the best server we've had anywhere in a very long time. Looking forward to returning on our next trip to see our parents.

RC’s delivered exactly what was expected of them. Fantastic drinks, steaks cooked to perfection and undeniable service. A great evening spent with family! A Christmas Eve we will not soon forget. Thanks to our server Shannon who was so nice and personal and delivered spectacular service!
