Best Steakhouses in Hillcrest

We had a lovely and wonderful experience at Ruth’s Chris Steak House thanks to our amazing server Ronn! The food and dessert were all delicious from start to finish! The ambience was spectacular for San Diego. The meal even ended with a beautiful Red Rose provided by our server. What an awesome way to celebrate Valentine’s Day Weekend!!!

My Wife & I went to dinner for valentines and we had a lovely experience there. The atmosphere was so elegant and relaxing. To start, we tried the crab cakes, unsure of seafood and they turned out to be amazing. We then both ordered a Filet Minot with the Diablo Shrimp over the top, with a side of mac and asparagus. So delicious. Because it was anniversary, we were also gifted some Wycliff by Dave towards the end of our first visit there. We will definitely be going back!

This dinner was spectacular! I have to tell you from the start we almost left. We reserved a table with a view and as everyone knows San Diego weather is unpredictable. The wind was rough and heaters were not cutting it. We had our drinks and we're ready to pay. At a steak house like this you already know dinner is super pricy. I'm not paying $300 to be shivering. Thank you so much to Frank who came by and suggested to our server Joshua's we might like the fire pit. It was amazing!! No more wind chill we even got a little warmer. This made our Valentines dinner. Joshua's went out of his way all night to make our experience amazing as well. Now the food ! I came here not expecting to be swept off my feet. Dinners lately have been kind of disappointing in SD. Tonight we were blown away by this rib eye in truffle butter. I asked for it to be a little charred and red on the inside. The meat was tender and juice spilled onto plate. The potatoes were one of the best things I've had in my mouth. I can not tell you how much I appreciate food seasoned to perfection. The bread was the opening act with how soft buttery, and fluffy it was. The calamari in sweet Chile sauce was different then any calamari we've ever had. Fried to perfection. My lemon drop martini was made by the GODS. I can not wait to come back here once we get our sunny San Diego vibe back. Love is definitely in the air tonight. WOW

Morton’s never disappoints! The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and professional from start to finish. We ordered the 36-ounce porterhouse for the table, cooked to a perfect medium, and it was absolutely phenomenal—juicy, flavorful, and expertly prepared. I highly recommend pairing the mashed potatoes with the cognac sauce au poivre—it takes them to the next level! A fantastic dining experience all around. Can’t wait to return!

Happy hour looked like a great deal! We sat at the bar while waiting for our table. It’s such a treat coming here. Service is always impeccable. The spaghetti squash dish was sincerely out of this world. We split a steak and the squash and it was amazing. The Caesar salad had an anchovy across the top it looked intimidating but I tested it was not prepared for it to be such a good addition. Usually it’s minced into the dressing and is well covered. We went to Eddy V’s the night before. (Which was really good) But Hands down Island Prime for the win.
