Best Shellfish Restaurants in Portsmouth

I try to get to the boathouse at least twice a week. The Caesar salad with Cajun grilled chicken and calamari are simply to die for. I also have never had the absolute perfect lemon drop martini ever the bartender there is amazing.

We met up with a childhood friend of mine and his girlfriend for a wonderful lunch on a snowy Saturday afternoon. The host greeted us with enthusiasm, and our waiter was a pro. We never felt rushed… there’s a lot to catch up on after 50 years! The food was absolutely delicious, and our table was in a wonderful spot overlooking the bay and the gentle snowfall. It’s hard to imagine a better Saturday afternoon in Newport. We even celebrated our waiter’s recent US Citizenship after living here for 20 years. It was awesome!

Christmas Eve dinner. Festive, lively atmosphere without being too loud for easy conversation. Service was excellent, beginning with the accommodation of a late addition guest. Staff was there for every need and question yet never made us feel rushed—even though our meal went past closing. I expected great food and was not disappointed. Oysters were particularly good and French-pressed coffee always adds a great finishing touch. My teenagers had a great time and have a new appreciation for real food. Highly recommend.
