- JJamilvipChicago / Illinois •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoMy husband and I enjoyed an amazing Thanksgiving dinner yesterday at RPM Steak. The entire experience was top notch. From the ambiance to the service to the cocktails and wine to the delicious food to the meticulous timing and orchestration, we could not have been more impressed. And unlike last year at Prime & Provisions (excellent food and service as well), we were not limited to a rushed 90 minute seating. To the contrary, everything was leisurely, calming, and paced to our liking and comfort. Now on to the food. We both started with the harvest salad, which was tasty, zesty, and refreshing. Followed by possibly the best lobster bisque soup either of us have ever had. For our entrees, my husband had the halibut and I had the turkey (roasted white meat, fried dark meat). Both were superb. High quality ingredients and skillful preparation. The meal also included three sides. The mashed potatoes and bread stuffing were outstanding, the green bean casserole was just okay. Perhaps for future Thanksgiving meals, they may want to offer patrons a selection of five or six sides, for which each table selects three. For our desserts, my husband had the carrot cake and I had the pecan pie (or rather, we shared both). Oh my. Talk about yummy and delectable! Chicago would be well-served if RPM Steak opened a bakery next door. All and all, our first visit to RPM Steak was exceptional and memorable. All the more to be thankful for on Thanksging day.More infoRPM SteakPrice: Very Expensive• Steak• River North (Chicago)•4.7

The decor is pleasingly dark and polished but with plenty of light. The food was very good. My husband has a filet of sole, which was filleted right at the table and was delicious, according to him. Two of us had the prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner, which was traditional (turkey, etc.); it was substantial and well-presented. Our fourth had the seafood grill, which he enjoyed. Service was exceptional from Matt (although I think he was a little disappointed we were all from Chicago) and the others helping him. We had an early reservation (11:00 am), arriving when there was hardly anyone there. By the time we left the restaurant was full but the noise level was still low and it was easy to carry on a conversation during the meal. It was our first visit and I think we may come back. A very enjoyable time.More infoJoe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone CrabPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• River North (Chicago)•4.9

I went with a few friends and we all agreed that they both redefined garlic bread and pizza (at least in Illinois) respectively. Great service and great vibes!More infoPizzeria PortofinoPrice: Expensive• Italian• River North (Chicago)•4.7
