Our opening date is 2nd December 2024, we cant wait to show this wonderfully redesigned Axe and Compasses to the village of Braughing. Our aim is to be the central hub of the community, and we are looking forward in welcoming guests back. The Axe and Compasses is a traditional British village pub dating back to 1628, serving a wide and varied selection of quality lagers, cask conditioned ales, fine wines, and premium spirits. We cater for parties from 1 to 200 guests and have menus for every occasion.The main bar is the hub of the pub and in the cooler months is a lovely spot for drinks and casual dining, there are two wood burning stoves either end to keep you all snug.The dining room is spacious and airy with a pitched roof with three fabulous pink chandeliers. Great food, great service. I’ve been in plimsoll before because their burger. I couldn’t come back with some friends to let them try it too. We got 5 burgers but at the end we ordered 3 more with extra cheese and at the end they were even better. My friend was looking for bacon but for me the crunchiness of meat was enough. Very good balance of flavours. I tried many burgers but probably this is the best in London. I was a bit sad realising they removed the green salad with walnuts from the menu cuz it was really good but I understand can be because the seasonal changes etc. Another must to try are the potatoes with aioli. We also got other dishes but I would say these 2 were the best. The pub was full but the service was fast. The kitchen is not big but they are very organised. Same with table service, we had some requests and the blonde girl who served us was really nice and patient haha I forgot to asked her name for the mention Overall a great experience! Thank you guys!

Good value roast dinner. One small issue - they advertise unlimited roast potatoes, Yorkshires and gravy. We asked 3 times for extra gravy as the meal was quite dry. The gravy did not come and there was no explanation or apology. Otherwise, it was all good.
