Best Portuguese Restaurants in Saint-Michel

The service and ambiance were perfect. thank you for the great service experience. Food on the other hand very disappointing. We took the tasting menu. I have to be honest and say that my expectations were pretty high knowing Helena through different cooking shows. Most plates lacked seasaning. The oesters were fresh but the vinaigrette overwhelmed them. La mise en bouche of tuna tasted only of soy sauce. It could have been chicken. Ceviche de loup de mer, the best plate of the evening just a little more salt to really taste the fish. The main course sadly got worse, espadon unevenly cooked, some parts were dry others not cook enough. The filet mignon was well done what a waiste of meat. The steak I had to mention it, they offered to redo it, but at this point it would not have made a difference. Desserts, ouf, it was also underwhelming, I kept on hoping it would get better. A plate of two mini pasteis de nata good, two dry peace of cake like it was left on the counter too long. We could not eat it. Big plate of Creme brûlée not up to par. They offered a porto on the house, but it did not compensate for the food experience. I am portuguese and I am really proud of chefs like Helena, sadly I don’t think my experience with the food at Portus was at the level of Helena. The silver lining was the wine pairing, the wines were amazing. Thank you Fanny and Miguel for the great service. I don’t know if I will give Portus another chance, because suppers at 600$ not everyday. It was my birthday supper. In all honesty Sandra Marques

We loved the restaurant! The food was amazing! Great service! Innovative Portuguese inspired menu with delightful music and ambiance. The bacalhau croquettes were super fresh and light! We ordered the aubergine, steak frites and moules as main courses - all were delicious and beautifully plated. The vinho verde tinto was a lovely surprise! And the desserts were too! Especially the pastel de nata! Not to be missed! We highly recommend Amalia!

World-class service and menu. One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Perfect for a special or romantic occasion but also great for a small group dinner. We highly recommend Ferreira, a true Canadian gem.

Get the salad! Everything was excellent but the salad with shaved asparagus and the scallops with artichokes and foie gras as well as grilled octopus were outstanding! The service was fabulous as well. A delightful experience overall! Would highly recommend.

Food was terrific and both it and house wine were very reasonably priced. My wife had piri piri shrimp which was very tasty but probably could have been a little spicier for her given her tastes but very very good. I had madiera beef brochette which was excellent. Place was a little quiet for Saturday night but a larger group did come in and twice before I couldn't get a reservation earlier in the week. Place us a real gem and montrealers should pack the place every night
