- PPaulVIPHouston •65 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoDining at Amore was a treat. I think my Chilean Sea Bass was the best I have eaten in Houston. My fried artichoke was excellent as usual although the stem was inedible because this is not the best season for artichokes. My wifes regala seafood dish was also very good. The prices are reasonable for white table cloth dining and service was attentive but not intrusive. My only minor complaint was that the music was a bit too loud. I'm not sure why restaurants feel the need for loud music that drowns out conversation. Also, why does an Italian or French or Japanese restaurant see the need to play American pop music. I never returned to one restaurant which served good food because their music was rock played at an ear splitting volume. I will not ever return to one of the new one star Michelin restaurants because they refused to lower the volume of their pop music which was culturally at odds with their cuisine.More infoAMORE Italian RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Italian• Upper Kirby / Shepherd Corridor•4.7
- SSARAVIPHouston •13 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoWe had tickets for the Nutcracker and decided to make the evening nostalgic and have dinner at Birraporetti’s. We were pleasantly surprised. We hadn’t dined here in DECADES. I had the chicken piccata and my husband had the tenderloin medallions with shrimp. My chicken was so tender, flavorful and the sauce was lemony and rich. Perfect! My husband’s beef was fork tender, shrimp were excellent and the fettuccine was to die for. Our server was terrific. Polite, friendly and oh so prompt.More infoBirraporetti's - Theater DistrictPrice: Moderate• Italian• Downtown•4.4
