He also suggested the winter Negroni drink and it was fantastic! We started with the salted beets and the hiromasa crudo both were fresh and light. We had the skate cheeks, the texture of the fish was flaky and had a bit of crunch on top. The ricotta dumplings had my mouth watering from the smell as I broke open the first dumpling. It had the perfect amount of heat and a slight smokiness that was so freaking good you want to lick the bowl. Hubby ordered the veal osso buco and raved about it. I had the orata and it was flaky and delicious. Most places that excel at the main food are not so terrific with desserts but at Bastia both the panna cota and the basque cheesecake had unique flavors that were a perfect ending. Service was incredible and allowed us to have conversation but never missed a beat on clearing and presenting the next course. We’ve been to a lot of really good restaurants but Bastia is top 3 of them all. There are a lot of excellent restaurants in Philadelphia and we will choose to return to Bastia.More infoBastiaPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Fishtown•4.8
- PPaxanPhiladelphia County •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoOur Christmas dinner was a delightful surprise. The restaurant served their regular menu, and every dish was a culinary triumph. We started with a flavorful lamb soup and a refreshing kale and pumpkin salad. The highlight was the shrimp bake—a generous portion of succulent shrimp and mushrooms, minimally breaded, which was a pleasant departure from expectations. The lamb shank was tender and satisfying, though a bit understated in terms of seasoning. However, it was still delicious. For dessert, we indulged in baklava, a new experience for us. It was rich, sweet, and absolutely delicious. We can't wait to return and savor these dishes again.More infoAspendos Mediterranean CuisinePrice: Very Expensive• Mediterranean• Princeton•4.6

The prices for for food were quite reasonable, with several entree selections available in the 20s. Bottles of wine were a bit expensive but overall great value and a wonderful evening!More infoMediterraPrice: Expensive• Mediterranean• Princeton•4.7

- SStephanieWashington, D.C. Area •3 reviews5.0Dined on Nov 28, 2024It was really great. It was our first Thanksgiving at a restaurant, and the food was so good, our server (I think her name was Kylie) was so nice, and we all were happy.More infoLaureaPrice: Moderate• Italian• Princeton•4.2
