Best Italian Restaurants in Maplewood

Initially I was reluctant to go here since it is a hotel restaurant but the weather was not good so we went. Good choice! My wife got the burrata caprese salad and I had mushroom and black truffle soup. The caprese was delicate and the soup was rich and perfectly prepared. For main courses my wife had la classics lasagna napoletana, which was firm and deeply meaty, quite delicious. I had the tagliatelle don Alfronso, which was to die for. The sauce with their home grown tomatoes was exquisitely sweet and the home made pasta perfect. I’m of Italian ancestry and have been eating Italian food my whole life and I cannot recall something this delicious, even when we’ve been in Sorrento. The service was attentive and helpful and the owner interested in our thoughts. Highly recommended.

Food and service were excellent. Menu choices made it hard to decide what order. Eventually decided on the sea bass special and was delicious. More food than I could eat in one sitting. Cesar salad and cannoli for dessert made for a perfect dinner.

Had the tasting menu and it was great as well as the service. Acero never disappoints.

We had a great meatball pizza. Hinter was our waiter and he was very attentive.

Always a great meal at the Clayton flagship location. Veal saltimboca and penne pasta for us is our staple and it never lets us down. Timmy is a great waiter.
