Best Italian Restaurants in Lexington

This was my first time going to Sam's Kitchen. I have heard good things about Sam's so I wanted to try it and I am glad I did. The restaurant is a small, quaint, elegant place with friendly waitstaff. From the beginning, the menu options sounded delicious. Along with the regular menu, they had a special: app, main course, dessert, and a glass of wine for $35! I decided on that to get a taste of a few things and it was fabulous. I had the seafood stew to start. It was delicious, I would have eaten a couple of bowls of that and would have been happy. The seafood was plentiful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Next I had the Chicken Piccata with linguine. The pasta is homemade so right there it is already delicious. The seasoning was even so you could taste all of the fresh ingredients. Next was a chocolate chip cannoli. What more can I say? This will now be my new favorite Italian restaurant and it will be yours too.

Great food, ambiance and service. We will be back.

Everything from soup, pasta, eggplant chicken or veal has always been outstanding! Make sure to save room for the most scrumptious gelato, served in a martini glass. Wait staff treats you like family members!

This was our first time at Sogno and we're already looking forward to returning. It was a quiet start to the day so we sat at the bar and Izza could not have provided any better service. We were not rushed and when things changed she let us know. Being new we decided to take our time and try a bit of a few things starting with a white wine. They have a nice selection and priced well. We shared the Arancini for a starter. Having Cacio e Pepe inside was a nice choice, but the lovely crusty outside really set this starter apart (from the same dish at other places). We next chose a red wine to go with our dinners. We had a general selection and were going to ask for assistance as they have an excellent selection of Borolo's but while we waited for Kelly to assist notice something different (that's one of the good (and bad) things of Italian wines, there are so many grapes); Mastroberardine. Kelly explained that was the area the owners are from, and that sold us. It was a lovely wine to go with my Bolognese and Julie's Genovese Tagliatelle. The Bolo was a little different with a bit less meat and a bit more tomato than I think of true Italian Bolognese, but it was delicious (and I will have it again). Julies Genovese was exquisite, definitely a must try. Winding down we decided to spilt a dessert, the ricotta pie was excellent. We try new places mainly based on the food and wine but here as most of our favorite places, the people truly shined Izza and Kelly made our meal special and ensured we'll be back. Thank you both. Food was perfect! Hot, large portions, & great service. We love coming here, there’s always enough leftovers to have a another meal the next day. Chicken, pasta, seafood are all delicious and Denise our server was attentive, fast, friendly and checked on us often, she was great!
