Best Italian Restaurants in Matteson

We have driven past Frankie’s numerous times, didn’t really know about it until we started looking for a local place to try out, we made our reservation and showed up a lil early, grabbed a couple drinks and waited for our slot to open up. We were seated early by Frankie (very friendly) and Karen served us throughout our meal with support from several other folks, whose names we didn’t catch. (Sorry) we ordered the Truffle pizza as an appetizer which was very well made, we were seated right by the brick over, which was great for a cold night like we’ve been having. Watched amazing pizza being made with chunks of fresh, classic, mozzarella, not some generic pre-shredded bag of cheese from wherever. The crust was perfect, crispy with a nice tug to it, good charring and texture. I ordered the Sea Bass and my Wife ordered the Lamb Risotto. The Sea Bass was perfectly cooked and seasoned with a lemon butter sauce with veggies and whipped potatoes… so, so good! So delicate and flavorful. My Wife’s risotto was reminiscent of something her mom would make for dinners on Sunday nights, very hearty and flavorful. Everyone we encountered there was warm and welcoming, and we really enjoyed our meal and have some great leftovers to look forward to, and we will absolutely be going back. Well done, everyone!

Vinny’s staff are accommodating and polite. I did not care for the entree I ordered. It was linguine with squid ink. I have had this dish at other restaurants and loved it. The pasta was the consistency of mud. Quite awful. They have a DJ there on Friday and Saturday evenings. Why???? So loud that we had a difficult time with conversation. When I think of a DJ, I think of dancing not eating.

Food was exceptionally good! Best meal I have had in a long time. Owners and staff were wonderful. What a great addition to that area! This place will be in our regular rotation!

If you are looking for a Restaurant that has Great food, service and Ambiance. Bella Mia in Midlothian checks all those boxes. The best grilled calamari I've ever had. The Italian Pork Chops are fabulous. And best of all is the Lemoncello Cake for Dessert.

The place was loaded, and they do not have Pollo Romano. Our waitress was nice but verry rushed. I had to substitute my Pollo Romano with agnolotti and mushrooms which was OK. My date had Lemone Ramone which she said was quite good. They substituted my Seagram's VO with Seagram's 7, which I had to send back. A got a very good Crown Royal. And was happy. My next visit will be on a weekday when it is less crowed.
