- CCatherineLondon •8 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWe booked the Axe and Compasses to catch up with friends and have a nice dinner out. It was our first time there and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, with generous portions, as was the service; our two servers were both friendly and professional, and a credit to the pub. Consensus was that everything tasted great, but special mention to the pork belly dish with black pudding mash that my friend ordered, it looked superb and the report back was that it was delicious! It was a bit quiet in term of ambience, we were the only diners in the restaurant area for most of the night, but it was a very cold evening, so people may have just not have been going out much. We will definitely plan to come back, lovely experience all round.More infoAxe & CompassesPrice: Moderate• Gastro Pub• Buntingford•4.6

The pub and restaurant were comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere and the food was fantastic - as good as any chef with Michelin stars in my opinion. The menu was varied and choice of wine excellent. The restaurant was tastefully furnished and so was our room with a lovely comfy bed! Cannot recommend enough to others.More infoThe Fox at WillianPrice: Expensive• Gastro Pub• Letchworth•4.4
- RRodrigoHertfordshire •1 review4.0Dined 2 days agoThe Red Cow is a very nice pub to visit. They always have a good choice of beer and wines. On the other hand food is either very good or mediocre. Today's Share of aubergine was a disappointment. The Fish and Chips were not what we expected. On other occasions food has been excellent. But today was not the best day for the Red Cow.More infoThe Red CowPrice: Moderate• Gastro Pub• Royston•4.6

The ambient setting with happy customers, the friendly team who are so professional and the freshness of the food that is amply portioned and beautifully presented. Pricing is so reasonable for the quality and service. They are deservedly busy all year round - I highly recommend!
